Casey Knox, DVM, HonBS, is a Technical Support Analyst with Mars Veterinary, and a member of the science team contributing to research and development initiatives, with a special focus on supporting the needs of breeders. She has been with Mars Veterinary since 2013, with previous clinical experience in both small and mixed-animal practices. She enjoys gardening, crafting, and spending time with her family, and has a Border terrier to keep her on her toes. Dr. Knox received her DVM from Oregon State University.
About the Seminar
“Introducing Optimal Selection™: Genetic Testing for the Serious Breeder” is a lecture intended for the breeder wishing to learn about the most current genetic testing technologies available, with a review of current trait, disease and additional health tests now offered. Breeders will find that there is interesting and applicable information for all knowledge levels, from the beginning breeder to the seasoned rare-breed aficionado. All are welcome to attend and ask questions.

Grooming Seminar by Russell Beach
Thursday, April 27th at 1:00 pm - Adjacent to Grooming Area
$5.00 per person
We are very excited to have Russ Beach join us to put on a grooming seminar. This will be for beginners and veterans alike. We all want to present that perfect animal and learning how to effectively brush, trim and comb will help us achieve that! Russ will go through things like:
*Trimming paws, hocks, etc.
*How to present a clean head, ears, etc.
*Tips for masking faults
*How to hide a scar, white hairs, etc.
Russ will actually be working with a dog to show us these methods and he leads the discussion!

Nosework Seminar by Laurie McLaughlin

Laurie McLauglin of Canine Companion Training Academy will be doing a free seminar on the general aspects of nosework with your Belgian. In late summer, AKC will begin offering nosework as a titling event. Laurie will be putting on a demo and allowing your dog a chance to see what it is all about!
